1Password for Agents: AI agents sign in without seeing passwords

Why it matters

1Password for Agents lets supported AI agents sign in to your accounts without receiving or seeing the password. When an agent reaches a sign-in form, it verifies itself to 1Password with a unique digital key and shows which login it needs and why. You approve or deny on your own device, and 1Password fills the password or one-time code directly into the sign-in form instead of sending it to the agent, which only sees that access was granted. Connecting an agent doesn't open your whole vault: it requests a login for a task, and you decide. Integrations for Meta's Muse, Anthropic's Claude Duet and OpenAI's ChatGPT Work are rolling out or coming soon, with Perplexity, Browserbase, Ramp and others also coming soon. It is available at no additional cost for 1Password Individual and Family accounts on 1Password.com (1Password.eu and 1Password.ca accounts aren't supported yet). Caveats: once signed in, an agent can still see information and take actions inside that account, and passkeys aren't supported in the initial release, so passkey-only accounts can't use it yet.
