Walmart Agent Profiles let your AI agent shop within a spending limit
Why it matters
Walmart announced on 21 October 2026 that Agent Profiles are "launching in the next month": each AI agent a customer authorizes gets its own profile inside their Walmart account, so its purchases show separately. Customers either approve every purchase or let the agent buy within a spending limit they set, for example $50, $100 or $200; approval is the default, and Walmart may ask for extra approval even within the limit. Agents don't receive payment-card information and can't add or change payment methods. Walmart says agents see the same prices a human sees on Walmart.com, profiles can be deleted any time, and agents that don't follow its terms will be blocked. A Walmart Agent Gateway (MCP-based) starts in beta for companies and developers.
