ChatGPT and Claude blocked on Sweden's Government Offices staff computers
Sweden's Government Offices (Regeringskansliet) told SVT by email that the browser interface of ChatGPT and Claude can no longer be reached from its work computers from 26 October 2026. It is not a full ban: through the internal platform Intric, staff still have access to the ChatGPT and Claude language models. All employees have Microsoft's Copilot, which the office approved and whose security it raised after a review (Sveriges Radio Ekot). The digitalisation director warned on the intranet that using AI services without an agreement can have "consequences for our information security". The Swedish Tax Agency and SiS already have similar blocks, and the Enforcement Authority is preparing a decision. This applies to Government Offices staff computers, not all of Sweden.
